I was picking up some food from Bollywood Masala in Southern Maryland when I came across this beautiful BMW 2002 sitting in the parking lot. I had to park beside him and take a picture. I then checked the back and he has an oppositelock sticker! Anyone know who this is? I would have hung around to try and talk to him but didn't want my food getting cold.

I'm pretty sure that's Chuck007 2(O=[][]=O)2. I know he's from the DC/Maryland area and he has yellow fogs on his 2002, which I am going to steal from him one day.

Two three pedal cars, parked squarely in the center of their spaces away from all the other cars. Doesn't get much better than that.

Nice! Yeah it must be him. I was pleasantly surprised, the only 2002 I've seen around here.

There was also an old white MG in the same parking lot. I should have taken a picture of it. I think the guy that owns it works in the shopping center since I've seen it several times before.

MD (MoCo) resident here... Saw an orange 2002 in Rockville with a wooden roof rack. (not sure if factory? looked clean)
That picture does not give any scale, which i find humorous as those two cars are SMALL in comparison to their descendants. Although that Z is huge inside, my dad had one and he was 6'5" and it fit him like a glove.

Really not my best work. Very tired this morning. Still, gotta keep practicing that Photoshop if I'll ever be any good at it.

Yes, both cars are really small. A few spots down are the modern cars which look massive compared to the 240z and 2002. The 240z is especially deceiving because of the long hood but it is only a 2 seater, it basically ends after the seats.
But you're right there's plenty of space in those seats! My father visited from Colorado recently and saw it in person for the first time. He's a bit taller than me and was commenting on how he was surprised by the space and legroom in the passenger seat.

HOOOOOOO LEEEEEE SHEEEET!!!!
What are the odds? I was at Bollywood when you were there, except I stayed much longer. I live in PG county, but go to school at St. Mary's. We should definitely meet up. I'm always out and about around Lexington Park and California.
And yes, to answer your comment, when I got back to my car I just laughed that I left the seat belt out.

Guard your fog lights, Chuck. Guard them close. If I wasn't a 6 hour drive away you'd be in trouble. Ahahaha.

Google: how to safely secure fog lights attached to bumper
BTW, what seats and steering wheel do you have? I know when I redo the suspension in two weeks, I will be sliding all over, just clinging to the bus wheel. I'm thinking Corbeau GTS IIs and a Momo Prototipo.

Right now I have the factory seats, but I picked up a set of Recaros from someone who has a TII at my family's shop. The driver's seat it pretty beat up (duct tape on the bolster and the mesh in the headrest is torn) but they were really, absurdly cheap and they feel awesome.
As for steering wheel, I have a Luisi Mugello Classico II. It's essentially a really nice Nardi knock off, but it looks awesome and works really well (except for the horn, but it didn't work with the factory wheel either).
I'm hopefully doing a bunch of suspension upgrades this winter, though I feel like I've been saying that forever... Fingers crossed!
The Corbeaus are great seats though. A buddy of mine had them in his old E30. His were cloth and they looked and felt great in his car. Would you go with a black Prototipo or silver?

Black prototipo. There isn't much silver in the cabin, and I think white exterior, and black/blue interior works really well. If you want the ST 22mm sway bar, it's on Amazon for like $85, if you have prime. Jumped at that two weeks ago. And, on saturday just blew most of my cash on the rest of the suspension. Spent $707 at BavAuto. Ball joints (I'm getting vibrations and hear some scratching above 60), Billy HDs, and H&R Sports. I'll be doing the swap on the 10th and 11th. I'm thinking it will be a huge difference, since right now you can walk up to it and rock it back and fourth.

Oh, woah. I might have to jump on that. Thanks for the heads up!
I think I'm getting most of my stuff through IE. I have a $300 credit with them so that'll soften the blow a bit. Plus I've heard awesome things about their stage 2 springs, though I'm not sure if they'll be low enough for me. We'll see. I would love to do coils, but it seems a bit excessive and super expensive.

I know you want the coils, but I think it's overkill on the road. Stage 2s go with Billy Sports, FYI. I have no reference, but I know they aren't recommended for street use. You probably already know, but check out the 'stance thread' on the FAQ. It's 40+ pages of a shit show, but plenty of examples. I'd just recommend cutting stage 1s, but as always, it's up to you. Also, watch your ball joints. I've heard stories and seen pictures.

Haha, yeah pretty crazy. I live in Lexington Park and work at the base like just about everyone else. My girlfriend actually graduated from St Mary's back in the spring.
Do you ever go to the Green Door? I go there fairly often for pitcher and pizza and shenanigans.

I expect everyone around here to work on the base. Who is your girlfriend, if you don't mind me asking?
I don't go to the door. I'm 20, but it doesn't really matter, and there really isn't anything there that isn't on campus.

This is like having two best friends that never hangout together, and then they start hanging out together and they are great together and you can't believe it didn't happen earlier.

Haha true. I feel weird posting her name on here... but no one else will see this. Brandi Webb, she was a psych major.
If you ever need help wrenching or need a particular tool let me know. I live outside gate 3 with a nice garage that keeps the 240z and my rallycross car. Though it's currently a mess... trying to get bearings and cv axles done before next rx.

Hey, still wondering if you are around the base or are still on here. I just turned 21 and I remember you said you occasionally go do the Door. Just let me know. It’s always nice to meet another car guy.
